Glengarry Hosts The Best Ever Whisky Club Night

Thanks to all my friends and fellow Whisky lovers who joined me for the Glengarry Single Malt Dinner just the other night. This was the “Oldies” night with 6 whiskies with a total age of over 180 years and a value in excess of $3000. The evening was a huge success as all 25 who attended will agree. We sampled the 6 glorious old whiskies with a selection of Dida’s Tapas to match and discussed them along the way. It was such a great night that I was asked to do it again so I am planning the next one already. As well the group on the night are all keen to start an OLD WHISKY BOTTLE CLUB as well, where we will each share one of our own old bottles with the group. The details of this are being worked out now and we will talk about it further at the monthly Malt Club Tastings. It is a tricky one as we will need to plan 4 nights to get through a bottle from each of us.

MAY Club Night
And that brings me to the next tasting we will have on the 19th May which is going to be a surprise in that the whiskies will be tasted blind. That’s right, you will be put to the test to see if you know your whisky and it will be fun as well with prizes and something special thrown in there. Thanks to my Wellington Team Vaughan and Ben for the idea as they are running one as well on the 20th April.

Shackletons Whisky Discovery
Have you heard about the Ernest Shackletons whisky discovered in Antarctica called MacKinley’s? well it has been causing a debate as to what it tasted like How would you like to try it? Kidding!, but about as good, an exact replica of the whisky has been produced by master distiller blender Richard Patterson from Whyte and MacKay and we have some coming and I will be opening it. So read on here for the full story and a wee Video from a PR release I was sent ..CLICK HERE

We are taking orders for this now with an expected cost of $225 per bottle.

Do you get my Malt Email each month? If not give Paula a call on 0800 733 505 and we will set you up so you don’t miss out on our monthly tastings and great specials.

As well as regular Friday night tastings in all stores right now we have about 16 Special tastings and events over the next month you could come along to, from Pinot Noir nights and Spanish nights cooking classes, Wine academy courses .. to many to list so check here regularly for a great night out…EVENTS

So enjoy

Cheers
